=======*======= Earth Bender| Fire Bender | Water Bender
Nationality: Republic City
Resilient - Despite her bad luck, her oblivious and dense nature and her slowness in a fight, she is very thick skinned and almost everything remotely bad bounces right off of her and she will always fight to get back on her feet.
Baking - This skill came rather naturally, being the daughter of a baker and all. It's something she enjoys to do in her free time, even if her mother does whatever she can to keep her out of the kitchen. No amount of natural talent can remedy the fact that Elowen can't carry eggs from one end of the room to the other without dropping half, if not all of them in the process.
Imitating Voices - Elowen has always been skilled when it comes to imitating voices. She's been doing it since she was a child. As she grew older she developed a love for creating stories and telling them to whoever cared enough to listen.
((Turned out a lot longer than I intended. Got carried away.))
".. and then the bird- You're not listening are you?" Elowen pursed her lips and furrowed her eyebrows. She wasn't looking very pleased with whoever she was talking to.
She was sitting beside a one foot statue of something that resembled a mutated and very angry dog. It was standing outside a small antique shop, supposedly to ward off bad luck according to the owner.
"You could just tell me if I bore you." Elowen said in a slightly hurt manner. Apparently she was talking to the statue. "That way I could find someone else to talk to, and you could enjoy your peace. It would be a win-win situation."
"Ah, alright, then I'll take my leave." The brunette sounded happy. She had come to some sort of agreement with the inanimate object. She got up from her spot and gave the 'dog's' ear a gentle pet as a nice gesture before she left.
She quickly regret it.
She could feel a nasty shiver crawl up her spine when she heard a low cracking sound. Oh no, no no no. It was already too late, she was already standing with said dog's ear in her hand and she could feel her heart explode in her chest from the sheer panic she was feeling.
"Relax Elowen, relax! if you just.." Elowen took a deep breath and glanced around, nobody seemed to have witness the mini disaster, there was still time to fix it! She very carefully placed the ear back where it rightfully belonged and ran a finger around the crack. Success! She managed to bend it back into place! As good as new!
She took a few steps backwards and she felt a small smirk spread across her face. Today was going to be a great day. She turned around, placed her hands behind her head and started to walk away from the scene while whistling.
Her happiness was very short lived as a few moments later, the cracking sound returned, this time louder and followed by the sound of crumbled, hard rocks hitting the ground. She didn't dare to turn around, she knew what had happened, it was all too obvious to her. The whole thing had broken thanks to her earth bending and it was now lying in pieces.
Oh how she wished she could be somewhere else right now.
History: Elowen was born and raised in Republic City and she's never done anything remotely worth noting in her 18 years long life. She's always been a laid back, free spirited daydreamer, even when she was a little kid. She preferred to sit around and play with rocks than play with actual kids her age, so she's never had many friends. It didn't bother her though.
She barely knows her father as he's a very busy person and rarely ever home, and the times she has had the 'pleasure' of talking with him, he always sounded like he had completely given up on her. He wanted her to join the force when she got older, but her clumsiness and inability to focus made it nearly impossible to teach her anything. To him, it was such a waste as she could have made a great metal bender.
Then there's the matter of bad luck too..
Elowen has always been told she was just clumsy, so she's started to believe it. Whenever she would try to make a good impression on someone, something bad would always happen to her and she would make a fool out of herself. Whenever she finally convinced her mother to let her use the kitchen, it would always look like a war zone after she was finished. She seems to have a little more luck when there's nobody around.
She always had a habit of catching the most odd diseases and sicknesses too. Probably due to her bad luck.
After dealing with an unlucky life and always getting yelled at, she decided that it would be best for her to stop caring what other people though of her, and worrying about what she was going to mess up next. It would be better to deal with her failure as it happened instead of spending every waking moment worrying.
When bad things do happened, she still tends to get embarrassed and at times, angry at herself for messing up. It's rare that she can't just laugh it off though.
Other: - She's followed by insane bad luck. She is a little clumsy, but the bad luck on top of it just makes it extreme.
- She's so far been able to bend anything earth related she could get her hands on, though, she has little to no control and therefore prefers not to bend at all.
- Her mother(non-bender) is a baker and her father(earth-bender) works in the Republic City police force.
- She spends most her day sitting outside the bakery, strolling through the city, listening to the radio or cleaning the streets.
- She is very flexible.
- She has a very lively imagination and can often be found talking to random objects.
